Position: Sr. Azure Architect

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Demonstrated experience managing Microsoft Azure-based infrastructure in a leadership capacity.
• Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) highly desirable.
• Deep knowledge of Azure PaaS components including SQL MI, Function Apps, Azure Data Lake, Entra ID Domain Services, and Azure Files.
• Strong experience with IaC, MFA, SSO, IAM, and DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Solid understanding of networking, identity, and security within Azure environments.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting preferred.
• Familiarity with Azure Policy and Blueprints for enforcing organization-specific requirements for compliance and governance.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Azure Resource Manager.
• Proficiency in using Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics for performance and security monitoring.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and business requirements.

Core Role Requirements (Architect / Sr. Systems Engineer level)

• Must be able to run and optimize the Azure environment (hands-on)
• Blend of Azure engineering + architecture:
• Ability to understand configurations, diagnose issues, make recommendations, and “tell them how to do it correctly.”
• Not looking for an order-taker.
• Should have the background of a Systems Engineer who has managed/optimized Azure environments (especially in smaller or less-structured environments).

Technical Skill Expectations

• Strong knowledge of:
• Azure networking, identity, security
• Function Apps, Logging
• MS Intune
• Modern cloud only – no VMware, no on-prem data center, no Active Directory
• O365
• Azure configurations & permissions
• General cloud IaC practices
• Small or hybrid environments where they wore multiple hats
• Disaster recovery – working with storage accts to link to Commvault/ will need to take this over- is this still needed?
• IaC experience required:
• Terraform exposure/knowledge is still important - certification is a plus.
• Must have actually used Terraform in a real environment.
